“In My Bed” by Sabrina Carpenter

The title of this song is a play on words which loosely alludes to its subject matter. The premise of the track is the singer (Sabrina Carpenter) being overburdened by her thoughts. But instead of terming it as being ‘in her head’, as in devoting a tremendous amount of mental energy to these issues, the song flips the phrase to Sabrina instead being “in (her) bed”.

However, the meaning remains the same, as in Sabrina obsessing over certain matters. And she appears to have little to no control over this situation, despite simultaneously acknowledging that, in a ‘hypothetical’ sense, she “could let them go easily”. So ultimately this track ends in the same place it began, with the artist being inhibited – albeit psychologically – by multiple issues in her life.

Release Date of “In My Bed”

Sabrina teased the release of this track via Twitter on 3 June 2019. Later it came out as the third single from her album Singular: Act II. It was released as a promotional single in advance of the album itself by Hollywood Records on 7 June 2019. Singular: Act II also contains the song “Exhale“.
