“Miss a Thing” by Kylie Minogue
Kylie Minogue’s album Disco, as its name infers, is a dance-oriented project. So even though Miss a Thing is fundamentally a love song, it is also themed on the singer encouraging the apple of her eye to ‘dance with her’. And it is one of those types of tracks that is also espousing the idea of dancing without inhibition. But again, the title of the tune alludes to its romantic nature. More specifically, what the vocalist is basically saying is that she wants to spend as much time as possible with her romantic interest.
Minogue admitted that when she was working on this tune – remotely alongside one of its producers, Teemu Brunila – she “had a meltdown one day”. This was due to the exhaustion and stress she was feeling at that moment.
The other co-producer of this track is Nico Stadi. And both he and Brunila co-wrote the song with Minogue and Ally Ahern.
Miss a Thing can be found on Minogue’s Disco album. And it was released by BMG and Darenote as part of that project in November 2020.
