“Monday Blues” by Kylie Minogue

The title of this song (“Monday Blues”) actually speaks to all of the weekdays – or more specifically the discomfort the singer feels during those days. For it is only during the weekend that she is able to overcome her “blues”. And that is because the weekend is the time of the week when she gets a chance to hit up the dance floor. And therein lies the addressee, the apple of her eye. Or stated otherwise, the only opportunity the singer gets to spend time with the man she loves is on the dance floor. The implication is that she has only socialized with him on a couple of occasions, i.e. this being a budding relationship.  But regardless, he is all that is on her mind. Thus when they are not together during the weekdays she suffers.
