“Wrapped Around Your Finger” by Post Malone
To put forth that someone has you ‘wrapped around their finger’ is another way of saying that you love said individual so much that you would do anything he or she requests. And in this case said individual, the addressee, is a romantic interest of the singer (Post Malone). And as with some of the other songs found on his “Twelve Karat Toothache” album, this piece requires a bit of imagination on the part of the listener to fill in certain plot holes, so to speak.
But what appears to be going down is that Posty became smitten with the addressee largely due to the fact that she wasn’t sweatin’ him for his riches. In fact upon first meeting, she didn’t even know that he was a celebrity. That is what is revealed in the second verse.
But then, going back to the first verse, the gripe Malone has with homegirl, as inferred, is that she doesn’t really care about him. Again, this isn’t necessarily the easiest piece to understand comprehensively, because usually when these hip-hop artists get to beefing about romance, it’s either that the woman wants them just for their money or is the unfaithful type. Neither appear to be the case in this particular narrative. Instead, it’s as if Post lucked out by finding a girl who isn’t materialistic. But at the same time, she proved to be less than ideal from an emotional standpoint.
And more to the intended point is that despite that fact, unlike other girls who may be in Posty’s orbit, she is still actually able to maintain a hold on him.

Posty teased the forthcoming of this track about a week before its release. And it seems that at the time, its working title was “Wrapped Under Your Finger”.
