“You used to call me on my cell phone.”

This line shows us that Drake and this girl have a history together, as they are familiar enough with each other for him to know her number off the top of his head. She has changed in some way since then—maybe she no longer uses her cell phone or maybe she just doesn’t contact him anymore. However, he still misses those times when they would spend time together regularly.

Narrator is Nostalgic

Drake is feeling nostalgic and misses his time with this girl, which might be why he feels compelled to call out “woes” (problems) instead of anything specific about what he wants/misses; maybe there isn’t just one particular thing about their past experiences together that stands out most in his mind.

He’s likely reminiscing on golden days spent with an ex-lover during a time when they were very close. And now all he is longing for is her presence in his life once again.

He is yearning so desperately for his time with this girl, which is why he’s “wishing” she’d call him on the phone again. He misses their relationship and wishes they could have it back so that things can go back to how they were before.

All in All

This song shows us that Drake has a complicated history with this unnamed woman, who may or may not still be in contact with him now. The lyrics are simple but speak volumes about what kind of past they might’ve had together. We’ll never know exactly what happened between them. However, it is so apparent there was definitely some bad blood at one point.
