“I Wanna Rock” by G-Eazy ft. Gunna

“I Wanna Rock” is G-Eazy and Gunna’s first collaboration and a good showing at that. G-Eazy in particular uses colorful metaphors that basically lend to the age-old hip-hop adage of the pursuit of money being paramount over romantic relationships.

And Gunna operates along a similar theme, where he basically brags about being rich while also acknowledging women as individuals whose primary purpose seem to be imparting intimate favors. And the implication is that they are willing to do so due to his wealth. Another thing he and G-Eazy notably have in common is a sort of disdain for police.

Also worth mentioning is that G-Eazy begins his second verse by referring to a beef he seemingly has with Funkmaster Flex (who he sort of namedrops) and Machine Gun Kelly.

And basically, the overall theme of the song is the artists ‘wanting to rock’.  And all things considered, this statement can be interpreted in a couple of different ways. For instance, it can allude to their apparently wild lifestyles.  Or it can also be understood as being symbolic of their desire to drop a song that’s truly slappin’.
