“Him & I” by Halsey & G-Eazy

“Him & I” is basically a love ballad between singer Halsey and rapper G-Eazy. This song was designed to be a “Bonnie and Clyde”, “ride or die” type track, meaning the main theme is a romance in which the lovers are so vested they would anything for each other.

The song is known for its utter genuineness. Why? Because as of the time it was written, recorded and released, G-Easy and Halsey were actually in a romantic relationship. G-Eazy’s verses are mostly devoted to him detailing how devoted his shorty (Halsey) is. For instance, he claims that she would never cheat and will be by his side ’til death. And Halsey’s lyrics support these same sentiments, as they are exclusively dedicated to her commitment to her partner.

“Cross my heart, hope to die
To my lover, I’d never lie
He said, be true, I swear I’ll try
In the end, it’s him and I”
