His death brought a lot of misery to his fans and the entire music industry because it happened at the peak of his career and a time where he could have achieved a lot in life. He was shot multiple times in his neck in a robbery that occurred just outside of RIVA Motorsports. RIVA is an upscale watercraft, and motorcycles store in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
He was in critical condition when he was rushed to a nearby hospital. The authorities pronounced him dead at 5:30 pm that day.
On that fateful day, the rapper went to withdraw money at the Bank of America. He later headed to Riva Motorsports.
According to reports, he was being followed by a black SUV, with a dark tint and black wheels, on his way to the store. When he arrived at the store, he entered and began to browse through motorcycles.
After about an hour and a half, he left the store and entered his black BMW, which he parked in front of the store. He began to drive away from the store when he was blocked by the black SUV, which drove right across and parked in front of his car.
Two men exited the black SUV and aggressively demanded his possessions, which included a Louis Vuitton bag. He struggled with the men for a few minutes and this resulted in him being shot multiple times in his neck. After the shots were fired at him, the men took the Louis Vuitton bag from the rapper, quickly ran, and drove off in their car.
According to witnesses, the SUV contained three black males, with two of them wearing black hoodies and masks, while the other wore a red mask. The Broward County Fire Department was very quick to arrive at the scene and they rushed the rapper to the nearest health center. He was later confirmed dead by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
Shortly after their confirmation of the rapper’s demise, the Broward County Sheriff’s office offered a bounty of $3000, for anybody who could give information that can lead to the arrest of any suspects.
22-year-old boy, Dedrick Devonshay Williams was arrested on the same day in connection with the murder case. Some employees of RIVA Motorsports identified him as a suspect to the Sheriff’s office, claiming they saw him enter the shop to buy a black mask. The Sheriff’s office later matched his image from security footage of the murder scene.
Four suspects including Williams, have so far been arrested for the murder. They are: Michael Boatwright, Robert Allen, and Treyvon Newsome. All the suspects have been indicted by a grand jury for the murder of the rapper.
