“Ojitos Lindos” is a romantic piece with a male and female vocalist taking on said roles. Thus, there’s plenty of lovey-dovey metaphors being thrown around, as evident by the title (which translates to “Pretty Eyes”). But what it all ultimately boils down to is the two of them, post-breakup obviously, having come to the realization that they belong together.

In other words, Li Saumet and Bunny were already an item but went their separate ways. And maybe at first everything was all good, with the former going about her business, and the latter mixing it up with other women. But now, things have reached a point where their hearts can no longer tolerate the other’s absence, which is basically the thesis sentiment of this piece.

Facts about “Ojitos Lindos”

This track is from Bad Bunny’s album “Un Verano Sin Ti”, a project that Rimas Music put out on 6 May 2022. Concurrently, Bunny can be considered the most-successful Latino musician in the world, and this is in fact the information age. So when you combine those two factors, what we get for instance is virtually every song on the LP’s 22 track playlist having thus far charted.  But the most-successful of the lot as of this writing is “Ojitos Lindos”. Unlike the others, this song has actually topped music charts in no less than six Latin American countries. Additionally, the song has been certified gold in Spain.

Bomba Estéreo is a band from Colombia, a country that is in the same-general region as Bad Bunny’s homeland of Puerto Rico. The acts frontmen, Simón Mejía and Li Saumet, are credited with writing “Ojitos Lindos” with Bad Bunny,

This track marks Bunny’s first ever collaboration with the band. And colorful to note is that Bomba Estéreo actually translate to “Stereo Bomb”.

Another Latin American music star who participated on this track is Tainy. He co-produced it with La Paciencia and Mvsis.

About “Un Verano Sin Ti”

“Un Verano Sin Ti” (tr. “A Summer Without You”) is Bad Bunny’s fourth-studio album and a product of Rimas Music. This is a label he has been down with since 2018. Upon release in early 2022, this LP promptly proceeded to top the Billboard 200. It also duplicated this same feat on Billboard’s Independent Albums and Top Latin Albums chart. Additionally, it also achieved number-one status in Spain and also interestingly charted in a number of European countries where Spanish isn’t the spoken language.

As implied earlier, “Un Verano Sin Ti” resulted in Bad Bunny scoring a whopping 22 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously, which is of course a very-rare feat. Also as a result of this project, as of the onset of mid-2022 Bunny stands, via Spotify, as the most-streamed musician of this year.
