“Thailand” by Roddy Ricch

Roddy Ricch’s “Thailand” serves two purposes. One, especially as far as the first verse is concerned, is to give a shoutout to Ricch’s main homeys. But more to the lyrical point is illustrating just how much the rapper (and his people) is chillin’. And in this case, such is primarily illustrated by references to his wealth and sexual adventurism/promiscuity.

Indeed all of us familiar with the world of rap music know that in hip-hop, riches equals b**ches. And Roddy has no qualms bragging about for instance having some “20 b**ches on top of the Ritz”.

Also as far as the title is concerned, it references the idea that the vocalist affords his main squeeze the opportunity to travel the world. And along those same lines, the most notable parts of “Thailand” are those whereas Roddy speaks to his interactions with women, such as spending a solid $25K for a romantic interest to have fat extracted “right out her belly” and injected into to buttocks.

So all lyrics considered, perhaps the thesis sentiment of this piece would be that Ricch doesn’t mind spending wads of dough on his sex life, considering that he actually has such to spend in the first place.
